What you'd actually do

  1. Act as a senior individual contributor and trusted Tax Business Partner to business teams, independently owning tax assessments for complex or high-impact new products, initiatives, and business models across multiple jurisdictions.
  2. Serve as the primary tax advisor for assigned business areas, providing timely, practical, and well-reasoned tax advice on both day-to-day matters and complex, ambiguous issues.
  3. Support and influence tax-related decision-making for significant commercial contracts, product launches, and operational events, including digital advertising and e-commerce activities.
  4. Build strong, trust-based relationships with key non-tax stakeholders, and proactively stay informed of business, regulatory, and operational developments that may have tax implications or risks.
  5. Proactively communicate material business and product developments to the Tax team to support alignment and ensure ongoing compliance with international tax requirements.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive tax experience in a digital marketplace, technology-driven company, or professional services firm.
  • Strong ability to independently handle complex, ambiguous, and high-impact tax matters with sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax issues into clear, practical guidance for non-tax audiences.
  • High levels of written and oral fluency in Mandarin

Nice to have

  • Solid experience in international tax matters and cross-border transactions; strong indirect tax (VAT/GST/SUT) experience in the digital economy is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of transfer pricing concepts and their practical application in business operations.
  • Prior experience in the Internet, Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) industry is preferred.
