Google is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for its Search Intelligence group, focusing on AI Quality for next-generation AI experiences in Search. The role involves leading high-priority programs, driving collaboration, applying technical judgment to navigate trade-offs, and streamlining operational processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management and machine learning/AI, with experience in quality evaluation and R&D components.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead high priority programs within Search AI Quality. Act as a strategic thought partner to engineering and product leadership, setting the program direction and reducing chaos in highly ambiguous environments.
  2. Drive deep collaboration and accountability across federated teams. Influence stakeholders across multiple organizations to align on outcomes that serve the best interests of Google.
  3. Apply strong technical judgment to navigate complex trade-offs, resolve stakeholder conflicts, and mitigate critical program risks. Facilitate effective decision-making to maintain program momentum.
  4. Partner across engineering and products to streamline operational processes, simplify execution, and manage Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the pillar.
  5. Drive continuous improvement, and introduce best practices for reproducibility and scalability in a dynamic environment. Adapt unique needs of the situation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in program management
  • 5 years of experience in machine learning or AI work

Nice to have

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience working with highly technical engineering teams across multiple organizations
  • Experience with projects which involve a significant research and development component in addition to pure execution
  • Experience in software development, evaluation methodologies, or machine learned models
  • Experience working on quality evaluation focused programs
