Ford Ford · Auto · United States

Seeking a Senior Technical Risk Engineer to design and implement risk-reducing technical solutions across cloud and enterprise environments. This role focuses on engineering practical, automatable, and scalable technical safeguards by translating risk requirements into actionable designs, controls, and architectures. The ideal candidate will partner with various engineering teams to embed risk controls and evaluate their effectiveness using technical signals.

What you'd actually do

  1. Engineer technical risk solutions that reduce operational, cyber, and resilience risk through architecture, automation, and control design.
  2. Translate risk requirements, policies, and standards into implementable technical patterns, guardrails, and reference architectures.
  3. Prioritize and influence solution design decisions based on risk impact, blast radius, and recovery dependencies.
  4. Partner with platform, cloud, security, and SRE teams to embed risk controls directly into infrastructure and pipelines.
  5. Evaluate control effectiveness using technical signals and evidence, not just procedural compliance.
