Senior Technical Writer for an AI Robotics company developing a general-purpose humanoid robot. Responsibilities include creating and managing operational, repair, and safety documentation, gathering information from SMEs, standardizing content, assisting with training materials, and owning change request processes. Requires experience in technical writing for software/hardware, markup languages, structured authoring tools, and CMS.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, update, and manage Operational Process Manuals, Repair Manuals, Safety Information Guides, and other essential documents
  2. Gather information from subject matter experts (such as engineers, software developers, product managers, safety leads and technicians) to ensure accurate and effective documentation
  3. Standardize content using documentation tools
  4. Assist in creating operator and technician-friendly training content, including step-by-step guides and visuals
  5. Create dashboards and tracking tools to monitor documentation updates, report progress, and optimize content based on feedback

Skills

Required

  • Technical writing experience (software and/or hardware)
  • Markup language experience (such as HTML, XML, DITA XML, or SGML)
  • Structured authoring tool experience (such as oXygen, XMetaL, structured FrameMaker, or Arbortext Editor)
  • Content Management System (CMS) experience (such as SDL/RWS, etc.)
  • Style guideline experience (Simplified Technical English, S1000D, MIL-STD, MMSTP, or custom style guide creation or contributions)

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree, certificate in Technical Writing, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong attention to detail, strong personal organization, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • Ability to be creative and open-minded when approaching problems
  • Great communicator
