Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

This role is for a Senior Technician responsible for general facilities maintenance at a Walmart Supercenter. The technician will perform routine maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures using various craft skills. They will utilize a work order management system and respond to emergency calls. A vocational or technical certification and 1 year of experience, or 2 years of total work experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, or material handling equipment is required. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights, and requires a valid driver's license.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
  2. Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
  3. Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
  4. Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  5. Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

Skills

Required

  • Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in various temperatures

Nice to have

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
