Senior Tooling Engineer role focused on designing, managing, and maintaining tooling for a composite manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include collaborating with product teams, providing cost estimates, acting as a subject matter expert, creating technical documentation, planning maintenance, overseeing projects, supporting maintenance teams, resolving shop floor challenges, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a safe working environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, manage, and maintain all tooling activities for a composite manufacturing facility
  2. Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to develop optimised tooling solutions aligned with current manufacturing capabilities
  3. Lead the design of composite tooling using both internal and external resources
  4. Provide tooling cost estimates (VROM) to support programme planning and approvals
  5. Act as the subject matter expert for all tooling-related matters across the facility

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a comparable professional role
  • 1 Year's working experience in 2D & 3D modelling
  • Third level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent

Nice to have

  • 1 Year’s working experience of composite production techniques & processes
  • 3 Year’s working experience in a tool manufacturing environment
  • 3 Year’s working experience of working with external vendors to deliver tooling packages
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • 1 year project management experience
