Senior Ux Design Technologist

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · IN, TS, Hyderabad · Design

This role focuses on integrating AI-assisted design tools and agentic workflows into Amazon Business's design system (Ink). The Senior UX Design Technologist will lead the re-architecture of Figma libraries to be AI-ready, ensure design assets are compatible with AI tooling, and act as a bridge between design, engineering, and AI platform teams. The goal is to transform AI-assisted design from experiments into a scalable, system-integrated workflow, evaluating and operationalizing AI tools while accelerating adoption without compromising quality.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the re-architecture of Ink’s Figma libraries to make them AI-ready, system-intelligent, and compatible with agentic-assisted design workflows
  2. Act as the connective tissue between design, front-end engineering, and AI platform teams
  3. Lead Ink’s evaluation, onboarding, and integration of tools such as Figma Make and prompt-to-design workflows
  4. Meet designers where they work by embedding design system guidance directly into design tooling and workflows
  5. Experience integrating or evaluating AI-assisted design tools, generative workflows, or agentic systems

Skills

Required

  • Experience integrating or evaluating AI-assisted design tools, generative workflows, or agentic systems
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and building inclusive systems at scale
  • Experience working on or with large-scale design systems used by dozens of teams
  • Ability to translate technical constraints into clear guidance for designers and vice versa
  • Strong communication skills and a bias toward action and experimentation
  • 6+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience
  • Have coding samples in front end programming languages
  • Have an available online portfolio
  • Experience developing visually polished, engaging, and highly fluid UX prototypes
  • Experience collaborating with UX, Product, and technical partners
  • Deep experience working with Figma at scale, including component libraries, tokens, and system architecture
  • Strong understanding of modern front-end frameworks (React preferred) and design-to-code workflows
  • Proven ability to partner across design, engineering, and platform teams

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of databases and AWS database services: ElasticSearch, Redshift, DynamoDB
  • Experience with machine learning (ML) tools and methods
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and building inclusive systems at scale
  • Ability to translate technical constraints into clear guidance for designers and vice versa
  • Strong communication skills and a bias toward action and experimentation
