Senior Wire Design & Installation Engineer

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · Long Beach, CA

Boeing is seeking Senior Wire Design & Installation Engineers to lead equipment and wire-routing installations for the C-17 military cargo aircraft. Responsibilities include directing design requirements, overseeing installation documentation, coordinating multi-discipline teams, and mentoring junior engineers. The role involves developing functional and physical design requirements, managing installation work products, and leading discussions in technical meetings. Candidates will use Siemens NX for 3D modeling and convert models to 2D drawings, incorporating wire harness modifications. They will also coordinate with various engineering disciplines to ensure installation, safety, and certification requirements are met, and provide guidance on root cause analysis for field issues. Supplier technical engagement and quality oversight are also key aspects, along with performing design analyses for safety and reliability.

  2. Lead sustainment, development, and documentation of aircraft systems installation work products, (equipment installations and wire routing modification drawings); may include direct interaction with USAF/FMS customers, Field Engineers, and C-17 aircraft
  3. Provide technical direction to cross-functional teams for complex statements of work, metrics, schedules, and budgets
  4. Manage accurate equipment and wire routing installation while maintaining current installation drawings, wire routing configurations, and associated parts lists
  5. Lead equipment installation and wire‑harness routing discussions in monthly Electrical Working Group (EWG) meetings and quarterly customer reviews, presenting comprehensive issue analyses, identifying root causes, and recommending interim and long‑term corrective actions
