Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · Roy, UT +1 · Systems/Architecture/Test

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Aeronautical/Principal Aeronautical Engineer to support the Sentinel program. The role involves conducting high-fidelity CFD simulations, preparing geometry and meshes, setting up boundary conditions, monitoring convergence, and post-processing results. The engineer will also communicate technical findings and ensure the quality of team products. Requires a strong understanding of fluid dynamics, aerodynamic theory, and experience with CFD codes like CFD++, StarCCM+, or ANSYS Fluent.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to accurately predict missile aerodynamic performance under various flight regimes.
  2. All aspects of the CFD process which include: cleaning up geometry, making meshes, setting up boundary conditions, monitoring solution convergence and post processes results.
  3. Ensure the quality of Aero/Fluids team products meets the technical excellence standards
  4. Collaborate closely with other relevant disciplines/IPTs, e.g. Flight Analysis, Structures, Propulsion, Integration and test, etc.
  5. Communicate effectively and clearly; present technical approaches and findings to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.
