Design Engineer/Principal Design Engineer role supporting the design, modeling, and integration of Civil-Structural elements for Sentinel Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, and Test Facilities. Requires knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and codes. Security clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil-Structural elements of Sentinel Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, and/or Test Facilities.
  2. reviewing design builds & packages, assessing civil capacity, and managing contract design parameters.
  3. work in close collaboration with suppliers and contractors

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years’ experience; 0 years’ experience with a Master’s degree. - an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance
  • Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of construction codes & standards such as: ASCE, CSI Dynamic Standards, and Engineering Change Proposal nomenclature relevant to the industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as an information gathering and communications tool.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts to both Government and corporate leadership

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with Revit BIM, Siemens NX and Teamcenter
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with the most recent investigation completed in the last 5 years.
