Design Engineer/Principal Design Engineer for the Sentinel program, focusing on Civil-Structural elements of Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, and Test Facilities. Responsibilities include design, modeling, integration, reviewing designs, assessing civil capacity, and managing contract design parameters. Requires US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret and SAP clearances.

What you'd actually do

  1. supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil-Structural elements of Sentinel Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, and/or Test Facilities.
  2. reviewing design builds & packages, assessing civil capacity, and managing contract design parameters.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts to both Government and corporate leadership

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years’ experience; 0 years’ experience with a Master’s degree. - an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of construction codes & standards such as: ASCE, CSI Dynamic Standards, and Engineering Change Proposal nomenclature relevant to the industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as an information gathering and communications tool.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts to both Government and corporate leadership

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with Revit BIM, Siemens NX and Teamcenter
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with the most recent investigation completed in the last 5 years.

What the JD emphasized

  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance as a condition of continued employment.
