Northrop Grumman is seeking a Director of Programs 1 – EMD Master Planning in Roy, UT. This role involves the horizontal and vertical integration of programmatic, contractual, and technical elements of a large-scale defense program, focusing on the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). Responsibilities include strategic development and management of EMD master schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs), and integrating internal/external dependencies. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience (or Master's with 8), 5 years of people leadership, experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and IMP/IMS on large aerospace/defense programs, and an active DoD Secret Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Responsible for strategic development, integration and management of EMD master schedules in alignment with contractual requirements and major proposal efforts
  2. Responsible for strategic development and integration of all Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), and Integrated Master Schedule
  3. Provide execution visibility to contract requirements and program master schedules including metrics for high-risk interdependencies (e.g., supply chain, product teams, test, engineering, etc.)
  4. Responsible for integrating and adjudicating internal and external dependencies and givers/receivers
  5. Develop and maintain program specific plans, plans integrating across programs, risk planning, systems engineering planning and resource planning

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience , OR a master’s degree and 8 years of related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of formal people leadership experience (team lead, manager or equivalent) in a program-oriented environment
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Integrated Master Planning (WBS/IMP/IMS) on largescale aerospace or defense programs
  • Experience with enterprise-wide schedule integration tools
  • Experience with Program Operations functions including: Program Control, Scheduling, Contracts, Negotiations, Subcontracts, Data Center, Facility Planning
  • Experience with risk identification, assessment and mitigation in a multi-discipline team setting
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher) last investigated within 6 years or enrolled in continuous evaluation and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

Nice to have

  • MS in STEM or MBA degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, production program management and master planning specific roles
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in process development, process maturation or product life cycle development in both EMD and Production Programs
  • Current Special Program Access (PAR)
