Northrop Grumman is seeking a Material Process Engineer for the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. The role involves working with design engineers on the selection and application of EEEE parts, creating component specifications, resolving qualification and producibility challenges with manufacturing and vendors, reviewing Bill-of-Materials, supporting supply chain and subcontractors, and conducting qualifications of new EEEE components. A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of experience are required, along with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance and SAP clearance. Previous project leadership experience is also required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with design engineers in selection and application of Electrical, Electronics, Electro‑Mechanical, Electro‑Optical (EEEE) parts, including Microcircuits, Connectors, Passive Devices, and Printed Circuit Boards.
  2. Create Component Specifications or Source Control Documents to meet Program Requirements.
  3. Work with manufacturing and component vendors to resolve qualification, producibility, and test challenges with parts and Circuit Card Assemblies.
  4. Review Bill‑of‑Materials, new part‑approval requests, and part attributes in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
  5. Support Supply Chain with component procurement requirements, selection of suppliers, and resolution of procurement issues (including the overall procurement process).

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline
  • 2 years of experience (or 0 with Master's)
  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Previous experience leading projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of various NASA & Military Performance documents
  • Experience with developing Source Control Drawings or Component Specifications for EEEE components
  • Experience with developing and conducting qualification of EEEE components
  • Working knowledge of Destructive Physical analysis, Failure Analysis, Root Cause & Corrective Action, component specifications, component screening, and related installation/assembly process specifications
  • Experience with derating analysis of EEEE components
  • Experience in parts, materials and process selection
  • Active DOD Secret or Top Secret clearance
