Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Facility Design Section Manager 2 to lead a team of engineers for the Sentinel Program, focusing on the design, modeling, and integration of launch facilities. The role involves managing engineers, providing feedback, supporting workforce planning, and ensuring employee career development. As a design engineer, responsibilities include overseeing civil/structural systems design, interpreting standards, reviewing designs, and supporting the delivery of technical data packages. The ideal candidate can build high-performing teams and provide technical expertise.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide performance feedback, training, mentoring and coaching to your employees.
  2. Support workforce planning and maintain sufficient depth and breadth of skillsets within your team’s core discipline to meet program needs.
  3. Responsible for employee performance reviews and supporting employee career development.
  4. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil/structural systems design for the Sentinel infrastructure and facilities.
  5. Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 8 years’ experience; 6 years’ experience with a Master’s degree
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Civil/Structural, Mechanical, electrical design on MILCON or major infrastructure/building projects.
  • Extensive experience reviewing subcontractors design product quality/accuracy by reviewing civil designs and validating that current standards are applied and integrated into the design solution.
  • Extensive experience reviewing Civil Technical Data Packages, Issue-for-Construction (IFC) package

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
