Staff Human Factors Engineer - Technical Lead for the Sentinel program, focusing on Human Systems Integration. Responsibilities include leading strategy, planning, and execution of Human Factors activities, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure human performance, usability, and safety throughout the system lifecycle. Requires a Secret clearance and experience in defense contracting environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of Human Factors activities across the Sentinel program to include User-Centered Design, Error Prevention and Risk Mitigation, Usability Testing, and Ergonomics & Workload Optimization
  2. Closely coordinate and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), USAF, executive leadership, Office of Chief Engineers (OCE), suppliers and IWO partners to ensure that human performance, usability, and safety are integrated early and continuously throughout the system life-cycle
  3. Establish key initiatives in support of the organization’s strategic and tactical plans
  4. Closely collaborate with peers and other teams to ensure shared-success
  5. Coach, support, train, and motivate team members to reach high-performance

Skills

Required

  • psychology, human factors, HCI-related field, or engineering background
  • 12 years of related experience with a Bachelors; OR 10 Years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; OR 8 year of relevant experience with a PhD degree
  • US Citizen
  • active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
  • 3+ years of Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment
  • familiarity with Mil-Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007
  • DoD UI/UX Design Experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations
  • ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
  • 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience
  • 2+ years working in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)

Nice to have

  • Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems
  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience with any of the following tools and languages: DOORS, Cameo, Teamcenter, CPLM, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing UI/UX design principles
