Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead the Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) System Engineering & Integration (SEI) Team. This role involves strategic vision, requirement derivation, coordinating development and execution of IFCs for major milestone events, and collaborating with hardware/software IPTs. The position also includes Control Account Management and Risk Management duties, with a focus on evolving traditional Systems Engineering into lean agile, model-based frameworks.

What you'd actually do

  1. stand up the IFC-SEI Team within the System Integration & Sustainment Directorate and lead IFC Strategic vision and Level 1 & 2 requirement derivation.
  2. coordinating the development and execution of the IFCs support major milestone events across the multiple program Business Units.
  3. identify the system functions for incremental delivery of a significant development program and define the specific configuration of hardware and software elements required for these functions along with the program timing.
  4. help guide the development effort of an IFC until it culminates in certification that the integrated set of products meets its functional and performance requirements and is ready to be released for its intended use as identified in the IFC system certificate package/certificate (e.g., ground test, flight test, developmental and/or operational test, and evaluation, etc.).
  5. grow your technical breadth in Systems Engineering across a broad portfolio of mission threads and be at the forefront of evolving traditional Systems Engineering rigor into lean agile, model-based frameworks.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 8 years of related experience
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance
  • Direct experience in major systems engineering design or integration activity experience (ex: SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, System Test and/or System Activation)
  • Experience presenting to internal and/or external customers and stakeholders to drive outcomes

Nice to have

  • Active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Special Program Access.
  • 3+ years of leadership/program management experience
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) and/or Work Package Lead (WPL).
  • Demonstrated Functional Management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent efforts
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and defining staffing requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
  • Experience with risk management (identification and development of risks) and driving risk mitigations to closure.
  • Prior experience and working knowledge of ICBM programs.
