Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Lab Operations Manager 2 to oversee integration and checkout efforts for test and integration labs in the Command Systems Business Unit. This position will ensure technical scope is achieved while also ensuring the labs are operating successfully. Typical lab operations include safety, security, property management, calibration of equipment, and both hardware/software traceability.

What you'd actually do

  1. Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into lab architecture solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints
  2. Develop and direct preparation and execution of lab stand-up, lab design and integration activities to support comprehensive tests and schedules for completing systems
  3. Coordinating integration and testing activities working in a dynamic people-focused environment
  4. Direct oversight of integration and lab operations teams
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure lab requirements are aligned with product / test team needs
  6. Responsible for development of integration plans / schedules, lab operations budgets, lab process compliance and integration of hardware / software units

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors degree with 8 years of related work experience; or Masters and 6 years of related experience
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • At least 1 year demonstrated experience in lab operations and test planning or test execution
  • Experience integrating hardware and software components in a lab / ground test environment
  • Familiarity with lab electrical / network designs
  • Ability to meet DoD 8570 certification requirements (e.g., Security+ certification, CISSP) within 6 months

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field
  • An active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP)
  • Prior management experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of test engineering, test and lab operations, principles, and processes
  • Demonstrated ability working with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Experience executing in an AGILE environment
  • Experience in Test automation (development and execution)
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and experiences as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of instrumentation and data acquisition type systems
  • Active CISSP DoD 8570 IAM Level III security certification
