Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing or Principal Manufacturing Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. The role involves fabrication, assembly, system integration, and testing of hardware, authoring manufacturing documents, coordinating with supply chain, and interfacing with cross-functional teams. Requires a Secret security clearance and experience in a digital manufacturing environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. authoring & creating Product Release Documents (PRD), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), Work Instructions, PPP & BTP packages
  2. Work with and coordinate with Global Supply Chain to move installation packages and related engineering documents through process flow to drive material procurement.
  3. Assist in peer reviews of design releases to ensure first time quality.
  4. Interface with cross functional internal & external teams and stakeholders critical to system deployment and installation.
  5. Oversee and drive progress using metrics and lessons learned.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant work experience (Manufacturing Engineer)
  • Master's Degree with 0 years of relevant work experience (Manufacturing Engineer)
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of relevant work experience (Principal Manufacturing Engineer)
  • Master's Degree with 3 years of relevant work experience (Principal Manufacturing Engineer)
  • PhD with 0 years of experience (Principal Manufacturing Engineer)
  • 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 2 years working experience in a digital manufacturing environment using core systems
  • 3 years working experience in a digital manufacturing environment using core systems
  • active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
  • Previous experience working manufacturing engineering on EMD/LRIP/Production Programs

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or in a manufacturing engineering related field
  • Previous experience in production for a military program
  • Previous experience on EMD projects
  • Prior experience with Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM)
  • Experience working Designs into preproduction & production
  • Experience with Siemens NX tools, Model based engineering, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Demonstrated experience using SAP, Windows software packages and other electronic databases
