Project Manager role at Northrop Grumman, focused on overseeing and managing operational aspects of ongoing projects, serving as a liaison between project management, planning, project teams, and line management. Responsibilities include Control Account management, IMS and task management, cost accounting, EAC management, Jira stories management, BOEs, Risk Management, Variance Analysis Reporting, developing project roadmaps, generating and tracking performance metrics, conducting SWOT and risk analysis, developing Statements of Work, standardizing workflows and SOPs for consistency and regulatory compliance, developing training and compliance protocols, contributing to new concepts and standards, developing innovative solutions to complex problems, executing complex assignments independently, and consulting with management and customers. Requires a Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience depending on the level (Principal/Sr Principal), experience leading projects, a Secret security clearance, and knowledge of Project Management principles and EVMS. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  2. Control Account management responsibilities, inclusive of: Top level IMS and task management, Cost accounting and control, EAC management, Jira stories management, QBDs, internal tools, BOEs, Risk Management, and Variance Analysis Reporting.
  3. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  4. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  5. Creates and maintains integrated program roadmaps, aligning engineering deliverables with strategic objectives and IMS schedule requirements.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-8 years of related experience (depending on level)
  • Experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • U.S. citizen
  • active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Demonstrated track record/ experience in project management/ execution and closeout
  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management principles
  • Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
