Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. The role involves designing and developing capabilities and performance requirements for the Guidance Computer, defining system interfaces, implementation approach, and operational concept. Responsibilities include technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost/risk analysis, and ensuring conversion of customer requirements into total system solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM, 5-8 years of experience (depending on level), and an active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Designs and develops key capabilities and performance requirements for the Guidance Computer (GC).
  2. Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications.
  3. Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces.
  4. Defines system implementation approach and operational concept.
  5. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
  • 5 years related experience (Principal) or 8 years related experience (Sr. Principal)
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience with electronics design and verification
  • Experience defining hardware/software and hardware/hardware interfaces
  • Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans.
  • Experience with engineering requirements management tools (i.e. DOORS).
  • Experience working on an agile team.
  • Understanding of the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety.
  • Strong experience in system engineering (SE) process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration for a DoD/Aerospace program.
