What you'd actually do

  1. Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  2. Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
  3. Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  4. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  5. Apply industry practices, techniques, and standards—leveraging core concepts and principles—to execute moderately complex professional tasks.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience (PM) or 5 years (Principal PM)
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • Demonstrated track record/ experience in project management/ execution and closeout
  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management principles
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
  • Experience planning, scheduling, and managing projects with many different stakeholders
  • Experience developing content, packaging, and briefing communication

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations
  • Understanding and application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Control Account Management (CAM) experience
  • 2 years of experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Experience with establishing Strategy, Roadmap, Vision artifacts
  • Demonstrated experience using SAP, Windows software packages, Atlassian Tool Suite, and other electronic databases
  • Proficient in Agile Development
  • CAM certification
  • PMP Certification
