Sr. Staff Chief Engineer for the Mission Defense Team on the Sentinel Program, responsible for ensuring the certifiability of the Sentinel Weapon System for Surety and Cyber, managing technical development, and overseeing engineering processes, design reviews, and integration with the Integrated Master Schedule.

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure the certifiability of the Sentinel Weapon System for Surety and Cyber
  2. Manage the technical development and direction for all aspects of engineering on a program including design, development, implementation, testing, and delivery of product to a customer
  3. Serve as engineering team liaison for communications to/from Program Management, Manufacturing, Operations, customers, and other functional organizations
  4. Oversee technical content for system design reviews (e.g., System Requirements Review (SRR), System Functional Review (SFR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), System Verification Review (SVR), and Test Readiness Review (TRR)) including entrance and exit criteria
  5. Ensure integration of the overall technical plan within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • 14 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 12 years of experience with Master's degree, 10 years of experience with PhD
  • US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • formally leading engineering teams/and or organizations

Nice to have

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Current CISSP or equivalent/greater certification
  • Experience in weapon system certification
  • ICBM or complex aerospace systems experience
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
  • Design Engineering/Computer-aided Design (CAD) experience
  • Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel
  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through managing people
  • Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in working closely with customers to ensure delivery of systems that meet warfighter needs
  • Ability to collaborate when dealing with groups from diverse organizations and backgrounds
  • Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations
  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic
