What you'd actually do

  1. Driving on-time delivery of work products to support the design timelines of the Launch Systems organization.
  2. Supporting a comprehensive risk and opportunity management plan.
  3. Ensuring adherence to the Sentinel technical baseline and associated processes for the Launcher Closure System team.
  4. Balancing stringent quality standards for technical artifacts (e.g. Product Definition Packages) with the rapid pace of procurement, fabrication, and construction of test assets and early prototypes.
  5. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of distinct customer communities, subcontractors, and industry partners.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
  • 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizen
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
  • Expertise with CAD modeling and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools
  • Expertise generating and releasing engineering drawing packages
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible
  • 5+ years of formal experience leading the technical rigor on a project
  • Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic driven systems

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens NX CAD software and Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
  • Expert-level proficiency with GD&T per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with DOD, Military, and/or Industry specifications including ASME, ASTM, NAS, and Military Standards
  • Experience with testing and analyzing results to evaluate system performance
  • Experience overseeing the fabrication of custom components
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership
