Northrop Grumman is seeking a Deputy Programs Director for their Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Business Unit. This role involves leading a large team in the integration and delivery of a complex missile program, focusing on programmatic integration, technical orchestration, and strategic leadership. The position requires a strong background in systems engineering, program management, and leadership within a defense context, with a required Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead technical and business integration of the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Business Unit, reporting to the Vice President for Sentinel SEIT.
  2. Lead BU business and operations teams to drive accurate planning and execution to deliver predictable Profit & Loss across multiple SEIT Operating Units.
  3. Collaborate with the Chief Engineer’s office to align SEIT plans with program technical priorities and issues.
  4. Collaborate with the SEIT VP and leadership team to set long-range business unit strategy, growth targets, and resource plans across all program phases
  5. Prepare and present executive briefings to explain system-level plans and progress.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working in a federated engineering organization
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through managing people and understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships
  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager
  • Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel
  • Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, process control, facilities, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations
  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance

  • 10 years of related experience, or Master's and 8 years’ of experience
