This role is for a Systems Engineering Targeting Manager at Northrop Grumman on the Sentinel Program. The manager will oversee a team of Individual Contributors, focusing on personnel management and technical assignments related to Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Modeling and Simulation and Analysis (MS&A). Responsibilities include executing trajectory simulations, analyzing results, developing algorithms for missile targeting software, and implementing numerical methods.

What you'd actually do

  1. The Targeting Manager will be responsible for the Horizontal Integration and Targeting (HIT-TGT) Section within the SDS Systems Engineering organization and will report directly to the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) Department Manager.
  2. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 8 and 12 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy.
  3. Key FHR responsibilities will be personnel performance management, pay conversations, process familiarization and training for Section members, as well as staffing of roles on projects.
  4. As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities with 80% of your efforts focused on a technical assignment on the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) MS&A team.
  5. The Targeting Manager is a member of the AVE Modeling and Simulation and Analysis (AVE MS&A) team responsible for AVE performance and flight assessment.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors in Science in a STEM field and at least 8 years of related experience; OR at least 6 Years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
  • U.S Citizenship
  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
  • Experience with Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis of Aerospace Vehicles
  • Experience with 6DOF trajectory simulation tools
