Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Technical Manager 3 to lead the Infrastructure and Test Interfaces Team for the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program. The role involves identifying and documenting interface requirements, supporting weapon-system design-integration and flight test efforts, and providing overall leadership for the team. Responsibilities include managing budget targets, overseeing technical product delivery, leading SOW task assignments, staffing, and people management including performance evaluation, mentoring, and employee development. The candidate will also act as the primary liaison with Sentinel leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the Infrastructure and Test Interfaces Team, which is responsible for identifying interface requirements, documenting those requirements, and organizing all interface-design artifacts that support development.
  2. Provide support for weapon-system design-integration efforts as well as flight test, that involve both external and internal interfaces.
  3. Act as the senior technical authority for all interfaces, provide overall leadership for the team and coordinate closely with functional and section managers on every team process, while also overseeing technical product delivery.
  4. Accountable for meeting direct and indirect budget targets and for balancing resources across the sections and teams within their scope of responsibility.
  5. Evaluate team-member performance, devise engagement strategies for high performers, implement corrective actions for lower performers, and provide feedback for performance-evaluation and compensation processes.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM
  • 8 years of related experience (6 years with Masters)
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Special Access Program (SAP) approval

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in STEM
  • 10 years engineering experience
  • 3+ years in technical leadership or formal management position
  • 3+ years driving performance against cost and schedule
  • 3+ years experience with ICBM (MMIII and/or Sentinel) weapon systems

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
