This role focuses on the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) of a new training system for the US Air Force Sentinel program. The engineer will leverage adult learning theories, create SCORM compliant courseware, and apply evaluation processes like Kirkpatrick's 4 levels. Responsibilities include analyzing knowledge gaps, designing training for multiple modalities, developing various training materials, and potentially overseeing contractors. The role requires experience with digital instructional design software and multimedia design.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leverage adult learning theory to architect instructional strategies that drive measurable performance improvement across complex training programs.
  2. Analyze and evaluate knowledge and skill gaps to identify training tasks to develop appropriate learning solutions
  3. Design and develop training products for multiple modalities, including online, in-person, hybrid, as well as synchronous and asynchronous formats
  4. Develop a comprehensive suite of training materials—including instructor‑led sessions, microlearning modules, interactive online courses, and on‑the‑job qualification/certification programs
  5. Curriculum design experience utilizing current SCORM standards Technical and creative writing; developing technical training CDRLs

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors of Science in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Human Performance, Training and Learning Development, Psychology, Marketing, or related field, with 8 Years of related experience with a Bachelors of Science; 6 Years with a Masters degree; 4 Year with PhD
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret Level clearance
  • Experience designing and developing learning materials for technical disciplines
  • Experience developing technology-based learning products
  • Experience creating formative and summative evaluations for technical disciplines
  • Experience in conducting training evaluations in accordance with Kirkpatrick 4 levels of evaluation and Phillips 5 levels of evaluation
  • Experience working in ADDIE and other training development models for technical disciplines
  • Experience applying adult learning theories and process-driven instructional design principles
  • Experience executing and delivering training system products on large DoD military program
  • Experience leading a team of junior training system employees
