This role is for a Test and Training Infrastructure Integration Zone Systems Engineering Manager at Northrop Grumman. The primary focus is on leading system engineering, integration, modeling, and testing for Sentinel Test and Training Sites. Responsibilities include acting as a Cost Account Manager (CAM), leading cross-functional teams, championing model-based engineering, managing stakeholder relationships, and developing talent. The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in STEM, a Secret clearance, and experience with EVMS, requirements engineering, system architecture, and test & verification. Experience in Aerospace/Defense is also required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead system engineering, interfaces, analysis, and test of all test and training sites.
  2. Develop and maintain the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) baseline for the test and training integration work scope; track cost, schedule, and performance; drive corrective actions to stay within budget and on time.
  3. Direct functional leads for structural, mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineering, as well as CAD/ECAD librarians; foster collaboration across the IPT for seamless hand offs between design, integration, and test.
  4. Champion model based engineering (MBE) practices; maintain an up to date digital twin of the Launcher system; own the Product Development Process (PDP) release flow, close design review gaps, and certify releases for production.
  5. Primary technical liaison to DoD customers, prime subcontractors, and key suppliers; prepare concise briefings and status reports for senior leadership, program reviews, and customer technical panels.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of related experience in STEM or Masters Degree and 6 years of related experience
  • US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in the Aerospace or Defense Sector
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) / Cost Account Management (CAM) – baseline development, variance analysis, and reporting
  • Experience with requirements engineering, system architecture, interface control, model-based design, and test & verification

Nice to have

  • Experience with SMT / Key Partner Subcontractors
  • Minimum 3 years in a formal lead/management position overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • In depth knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards (e.g., MIL-STDs, UFCs, NFPA, IBC, etc.)
  • Experience Model Based Systems Engineering tools (Cameo, MagicDraw, IBM Rational)
  • Experience CAD/ECAD platforms (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Mentor Graphics)
  • Experience with ANSYS, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or comparable solvers
