This role is for a Service Engineer on the Azure Data team, focusing on the Cosmos service. The role involves end-to-end delivery of platform features, driving product strategy using AI, translating customer needs into requirements, managing capacity and supply chain, leading cross-team execution, and handling incident/change management. While the team actively uses AI tools and the role is expected to leverage AI, the core deliverable is the data platform itself, not AI models or agents.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own end‑to‑end delivery of platform features for the Cosmos service, from problem definition through design, implementation, and rollout.
  2. Drive the product strategy and roadmap for key areas of the Cosmos platform you own by leveraging AI.
  3. Translate customer business needs into well‑scoped program plans and engineering requirements.
  4. Drive capacity planning and Supply chain management for the Cosmos platform.
  5. Lead cross‑team execution by coordinating dependencies across engineering, operations, security, and other platform teams.

Skills
