This role is a Shipping Lead responsible for complex logistics operations, including inbound freight and outbound deployment of modular data centers. The role involves strategic dispatch, route planning, carrier management, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. It requires extensive experience in logistics and transportation management, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering and procurement teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Schedule and optimize the dispatch of equipment and materials.
  2. Manage freight agreements, selecting and negotiating with carriers to minimize risk and cost.
  3. Plan inbound and outbound routing and trailer optimization for multi-stop and high-volume deliveries.
  4. Lead the wrapping and packaging team to ensure all products are secure and presentation-ready.
  5. Evaluate carrier and supplier performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery rates, damage-free rates, and freight cost efficiency.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or an equivalent field
  • Extensive experience in logistics coordination and transportation management
  • Deep understanding of freight modes (LTL, FTL, heavy haul, and international) and supply chain procedures
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and solve high-stakes logistical hurdles
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build reports for KPI and OKR tracking
  • Proven ownership of transport agreements
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Nice to have

  • Experience managing a departmental logistics budget
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CLTD)
  • Direct experience with heavy haul equipment coordination and specialized permitting
