Shipyard Scheduler / Planner

This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing integrated production schedules that align engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, commissioning, and maritime operations activities for autonomous vessel programs. The ideal candidate combines strong planning and analytical skills with an understanding of shipbuilding, manufacturing, or complex industrial operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and maintain integrated vessel construction, commissioning, and delivery schedules
  2. Coordinate planning activities across engineering, production, supply chain, commissioning, quality, and maritime operations teams
  3. Create detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), production schedules, and milestone plans for vessel programs
  4. Monitor schedule performance and identify risks, constraints, and recovery opportunities
  5. Facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly production planning and schedule review meetings

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, shipbuilding, construction, industrial operations, or project controls
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex project schedules
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, manufacturing operations, or industrial construction environments
  • Proficiency with scheduling software
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and competing priorities
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, production plans, and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working directly within shipyard, manufacturing, or operational environments
  • Familiarity with ERP, MES, or digital production management systems
  • Understanding of critical path scheduling, earned value management, or project controls methodologies
  • Experience with resource planning, capacity modeling, and production forecasting

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered
  • PMP, PMI-SP, AACE, Lean, or similar professional certifications
  • Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or rapid production scaling environments
