Signal Integrity Engineer

AMD AMD · Semiconductors · MARKHAM, Canada · Engineering

This role focuses on the electrical performance of AMD products, including signal and power integrity for silicon, package, and platform. The engineer will design, model, simulate, and characterize high-speed signal propagation and power delivery networks, review layouts, and work with vendors. While the role supports emerging AI applications, its core function is in electrical engineering for computing hardware, not AI model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, model, simulate, and characterize high‑speed signal propagation and power delivery networks for AMD products
  2. Build system‑level channel simulations to help ensure package and PCB designs meet defined SI/PI specifications
  3. Review package and PCB layouts and identify opportunities for refinement and improvement
  4. Work with vendors to obtain packages, PCB, and socket models, including standardized models when available, and use them in simulations
  5. Run channel simulations to generate performance data and evaluate results against specifications
