Silicon System Validation Engineer

Meta Meta · Big Tech · Taipei, Taiwan

Silicon System Validation Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and validating complex silicon systems, including ASICs and SOCs. This role involves leading the development and execution of validation plans, coordinating test and debug activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role also requires ongoing AI skill development and integration of AI tools into workflows.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development, execution, and sign-off of System-on-Chip (SoC) and end-to-end system validation plans
  2. Identify and communicate technical risks related to silicon validation projects to relevant stakeholders
  3. Plan, organize, and oversee silicon bring-up and validation activities across multiple SoCs
  4. Execute and coordinate test and debug activities with cross-functional and plug-and-play (PnP) teams, ensuring thorough validation coverage
  5. Lead laboratory debug activities, silicon bug reproduction, failure analysis, and failure reporting across multiple domains or projects

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in the bring-up and validation of complex System-on-Chip (SoC) components
  • Experience leading silicon validation planning, execution, firmware development for validation, and validation sign-off processes
  • Demonstrated experience with high-speed protocols, such as MIPI, PCIe, USB, and DDR, including hands-on experience in high-speed input/output (IO) bring-up
  • Demonstrated experience using laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, bit error rate testers (BERTs), protocol analyzers, and JTAG debuggers
  • Demonstrated experience with pre-silicon validation platforms, such as field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and emulation systems
  • Knowledge of application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design flow, silicon foundry test flow, and firmware development processes for silicon components
  • Experience collaborating with design, design verification, and post-silicon validation teams to optimize the use of pre-silicon prototype platforms

Nice to have

  • Ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
