Site Manager – Autonomous Mining Technology

This role is for a Site Manager focused on autonomous mining technology, specifically Command for Hauling operations. The manager will lead on-site autonomy roles, drive performance metrics, influence product groups, and act as a trusted advisor to the customer and internal stakeholders to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS).

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and support on‑site autonomy roles including Autonomous Application Specialists, Project Engineers, and Autonomous On‑Board Specialists, while partnering closely with the customer’s Command team.
  2. Drive performance across key site metrics such as technology availability, fleet utilization, production, uptime, cost per ton, and safety.
  3. Influence Caterpillar product groups and internal partners to accelerate corrective actions and minimize operational impact from product or production issues.
  4. Partner with the Mining Region Director, Site Performance Manager, Commercial Manager, and Sales teams to identify and support commercial growth opportunities.
  5. Act as a consultant to customer and dealer operations and maintenance leaders—advising on best practices for Command for Hauling and autonomous operations.
