Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Monitoring Technician (Level 2 or 3) for the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Systems Integration Test and Readiness (SITR) program. This role involves supporting 24x7 operations of the GMD Fire Control and Communications Network, monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and configuring network devices. The position is on-site and requires a Secret clearance. This is an internship opportunity through the SkillBridge program for transitioning service members.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the 24x7 operations of the GMD Fire Control (GFC) and GMD Communications Network (GCN) component of the GMD system.
  2. Execute system startup, configuration, monitoring, health & status reporting, and initial troubleshooting to GFC operational software and connections to other GMD assets.
  3. Operate, monitor, and manage the end-to-end performance of the GMD Communications Network Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN)
  4. Use SolarWinds and other network management tools to monitor, detect and report faults to hardware devices, virtual machines, and network connections.
  5. Configure router and switch interfaces in accordance with written documentation.
