Chief Engineer for the SM-3 Blk IIA Under Layer development effort, focusing on hardware and software integration, qualification, and execution to meet flight test schedules. The role involves leading a large engineering team, managing cost, schedule, performance, and risk for a critical munitions program within the aerospace and defense sector.

What you'd actually do

  1. Help define and drive execution of this development program based on product vision, strategy, and goals to align with customer flight test and deployment milestones.
  2. Own technical decisions and risk position of the developmental efforts.
  3. Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the program engineering team and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule and technical requirements.
  4. Primary technical point of contact with execution team and communication to senior leaders and customer technical points-of-contact.
  5. Influence technical and product line road maps, ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • system development and design
  • requirements development, management, verification, system integration and test, and production
  • modular systems architectures and product lines
  • technical leader who can develop work plans and drive execution
  • leading engineering teams
  • managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets
  • strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government issued Interim Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship

  • Raytheon Level 4 Certified Chief Engineer
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
