This role is for a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Quality Engineer at AMD, focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI) quality support for components and boards. The engineer will ensure customer qualification barriers are removed by managing characterization, testing, reliability, and environmental aspects. They will also work with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues, drive preventive actions, and manage factory quality requirements. The role involves understanding emerging customer quality and environmental requirements, shaping customer quality scorecard results, and planning customer technology assessments. A Master's degree in a related engineering field and four years of experience in quality, product engineering, support, or sales within the semiconductor industry are required. Specific skills include developing stress test flows, performing reliability analysis, applying statistical methods for quality improvement, and using failure analysis techniques.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide mew product introduction quality support.
  2. Own NPI quality release requirements for new product introduction.
  3. Remove customer qualification barriers to new product sales including characterization, testing, reliability, and environmental.
  4. Work with support, design, product, and test engineering to drive customer 8D resolution and preventive action.
  5. Drive customer issue handling.

  • Working in semiconductor or electronics in either quality, product engineering, support or a direct sales role
  • Design, product development, new product introduction and test engineering processes
  • Develop innovative stress test flows and screens to improve quality in production
  • Environmental stress methods, performing reliability analysis
  • Apply data analysis & statistical analytical methods to predictively improve product quality
