Soc Functional Validation Engineer

This role focuses on the functional validation of System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, ensuring the quality and reliability of Intel's silicon solutions. Responsibilities include developing and executing pre-silicon and post-silicon validation strategies, system simulation, emulation, debugging, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize designs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define, develop, and perform functional validation for integrated SoCs, focusing on IP integration and system-level features.
  2. Develop and execute pre-silicon functional validation strategies, including scalable and reusable block, subsystem, and SoC verification plans.
  3. Perform system simulation and emulation to validate power, performance, and design functionality, identifying and resolving bugs in collaboration with RTL and architecture teams.
  4. Conduct in-depth debugging and root cause analysis of pre-silicon issues, implementing corrective measures to enhance design quality.
  5. Perform silicon debug to identify root causes of functional failures, triage issues, and drive resolutions.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in SoC validation with a Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Expertise in functional validation and debug processes for SoCs.
  • Experience with post-silicon validation and debug flows.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques.
  • Solid understanding of system architecture and SoC microarchitecture.
