Softlines Category Manager, Consumer Products Mexico

Netflix is seeking a Consumer Products Manager to lead Softlines and Stationery for Mexico and Northern Latin America. This role will own the commercial licensing strategy, build and manage licensee portfolios, drive revenue growth, and ensure local activation of global and regional priorities. The ideal candidate will identify white spaces, lead negotiations, manage senior licensee relationships, and drive execution across multiple partners. Responsibilities include leading the commercial strategy, identifying category opportunities, building and evolving the licensee portfolio, owning partner relationships, leading negotiations, shaping commercialization plans, partnering with Product Development & Creative, using business insights, and representing the category internally and externally. Qualifications include 8+ years of experience in licensing, business development, or related fields, experience in entertainment or consumer products, strong understanding of the Mexican Softlines market, proven ability to manage partners and drive growth, strong commercial judgment, autonomy, excellent communication skills, cross-functional experience, and analytical skills. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the Softlines & Stationery commercial strategy for Mexico & NOLA, translating Netflix’s global and regional franchise priorities into locally relevant category plans.
  2. Drive sustainable revenue growth by identifying category opportunities, building commercial plans, and scaling high-potential partnerships across apparel, accessories, bags, footwear, stationery, back-to-school, and adjacent lifestyle categories.
  3. Build and evolve a best-in-class licensee portfolio, ensuring each partner has a clear strategic role, strong execution capability, and the potential to grow with Netflix’s long-term franchise ambitions.
  4. Own senior-level partner relationships, engaging key decision-makers with a clear point of view, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence commercial outcomes.
  5. Lead commercial negotiations and partner development, from prospecting and pitching to onboarding, deal execution, category expansion, and long-term account growth.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in licensing, business development, strategic partnerships, sales, category management, or brand management
  • Strong understanding of the Mexican Softlines market
  • Proven ability to manage external partners, negotiate commercial opportunities, and drive business growth
  • Strong commercial judgment
  • Ability to operate with autonomy, urgency, ownership, and strong follow-through
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Fluent in Spanish and English

Nice to have

  • Experience across Northern Latin America is a plus
  • Experience in entertainment, consumer products, fashion, lifestyle, retail, or adjacent categories strongly preferred
