Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Configuration Management (SCM) Engineer to process software releases, create SCM controlled software builds, and manage SCM processes in compliance with principles and operating procedures. The role involves driving process improvements and requires experience with tools like PLM, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git, and compilers, along with a Secret Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Process software releases for both Woodland Hills and Salt Lake City sites
  2. Create SCM controlled software builds
  3. Schedule and facilitate Software Configuration Control Board (SCCB) meetings and process Software Action Requests (SAR)
  4. Perform SCM processes in compliance with principles and operating procedures and homeroom directives
  5. Drive process improvements to the SCM organization to maximize efficiency

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (e.g., Enovia Matrix or Teamcenter)
  • Experience with ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git
  • Experience with compilers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience creating and troubleshooting controlled software builds
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Planning, organizational, and data gathering skills
  • Process-focused with attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers
  • US Citizen
  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance

Nice to have

  • Relevant SCM experience in aerospace/defense
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Highly proficient with GitHub and GitLab
  • Experience supporting SCM role in SQA and customer audits (PCA/FCA)
  • Build Management experience, including creating Software Version Descriptions (SVD)
