Software Developer II - Conversational Search

Redfin is seeking a Software Developer II to join their Conversational Search team. This role will focus on building an AI-powered home search experience using conversational UI, LLM reasoning, and high-performance backend systems. The developer will work with technologies like React, Java, AWS, and AI SDKs to create a better way for users to search for homes. The position emphasizes full-stack development, experience with modern frontend technologies, and an understanding of LLMs and agent development.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will develop responsive, resilient, scalable, and high-quality conversational experiences using React, Java, AWS, Sierra AI and various other tools/libraries.
  2. You will balance the trade-offs between complex infrastructure investments and quick, pragmatic solutions to meet specific business needs.
  3. You will collaborate with other engineering and product stakeholders to define, design, and lead the development of significant multi-person projects.
  4. You will stay up to date with the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem and help evaluate new tools, models, and frameworks.
  5. You will mentor and guide other junior engineers
