Software Development Engineer on the Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) team, focusing on services that power AMC and enable it to scale. The role involves building secure, privacy-safe analytics environments for advertisers, ingesting billions of behavioral signals daily, and working with massive scale streaming systems, machine learning, data science, and cloud-native development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and build robust, scalable software systems that enhance product experiences, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers
  2. Own the complete lifecycle of software development and deployment, including system design, implementation, testing, monitoring, and maintenance of production services at scale
  3. Develop and implement scalable, automated solutions for complex technical challenges, including distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, and user-facing applications across multiple business initiatives
  4. Contribute directly to critical system components, writing high-quality code that ensures engineering excellence in performance, reliability, and maintainability
  5. Design and execute experiments and analyses to evaluate software solutions, ensuring data-driven optimization and measurable impact on product metrics and user experience

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
