Software Development Engineer, Whs Data-tech

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · Bellevue, WA · Software Development

Software Development Engineer role focused on building and deploying AI and computer vision systems for workplace safety at Amazon. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining production services, optimizing data pipelines, integrating ML model outputs, and collaborating with applied scientists to productionize models. It emphasizes end-to-end ownership from data ingestion to edge deployment and operational maintenance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and maintain production services that power computer vision and AI-based safety applications, built on AWS
  2. Build and optimize data ingestion pipelines for video, image, and sensor data from edge devices deployed across Amazon facilities
  3. Develop APIs and backend services that integrate ML model outputs with internal safety tools and dashboards
  4. Collaborate with applied scientists to productionize machine learning models - handling model serving, inference optimization, and deployment workflows
  5. Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code while contributing to code reviews, design documents, and architectural decisions
