Software Development Manager for Amazon's Payment Products team, focusing on co-branded and private label credit cards. What you'd actually do

  1. Hire, motivate, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, providing them with appropriate opportunities to succeed in their career objectives.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work effectively with product managers and software engineers on other Commerce Platform teams to ensure the successful delivery of features.
  3. Ensure timely execution of key organizational goals and customer launches by removing blockers and reducing execution risks.
  4. Work closely with the leadership team to provide input on OP, roadmaps, and strategic discussions.
  5. Develop the long-term strategy for your programs and translate that into an achievable road map/action plan

Skills

Required

  • engineering team management experience
  • working directly within engineering teams experience
  • designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
