Software Development Manager for a new generative AI-powered assistant initiative within Amazon Quick. The role involves leading a team to define, drive, and execute product vision, invent and ship software impacting end customers, and collaborate with scientists and product managers. What you'd actually do

  1. You'll lead the overall development life cycle of software solutions and manage complex projects with significant impact.
  2. Coordinate with your senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for product development.
  3. Assure that your team's designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
  4. Prioritize, plan projects and features, manage partners, and track external commitments.
  5. Monitor operation of production services to ensure Operational Excellence.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Nice to have

  • Experience in Full Stack and Gen-AI development
  • 5+ years shipping production software with depth in distributed Python services, TypeScript/React desktop apps, or LLM-backed agent runtimes.
  • Strong Python and TypeScript/React, with Electron production experience.
  • WebSockets and event-driven streaming architectures.
  • LLM application engineering on AWS Bedrock or comparable platforms — agent frameworks, orchestration, and interoperability protocols (MCP, A2A, ACP).
  • Approaches for Memory and Knowledge graphs, semantic search, and vector stores.
  • Owns features end-to-end: tests, evals, telemetry, docs, code review.
