Responsibilities:
- Lead and Mentor a Talented Team: You will manage and mentor a cross-functional team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Your leadership skills will be pivotal in guiding the team through complex challenges and ensuring their professional growth.
- Drive Technical Vision and Strategy: As the SDM, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical vision and AI strategy for the team. You will work closely with stakeholders, product managers, UX leads and PE’s to align your roadmap with business objectives.
- Full-Stack Development Expertise: You will leverage your full-stack development experience to oversee the entire lifecycle of feature deliverables and influence the tech stack and testing strategy. Your hands-on expertise will be invaluable in guiding the team's technical decisions and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Agile Methodologies and DevOps Practices: You will champion agile methodologies and DevOps practices within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, automated testing, operational excellence and efficient software delivery and release.
- Collaboration and Communication: This role is highly visible and involves working closely with UX team and product partners. Effective collaboration and communication skills are essential in this role. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product partners and UX teams, ensuring alignment and seamless integration of efforts.
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
