Software Development Manager - Aws Console Platform, Aws Widget Toolkit (awt) - Uxp2

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · East Palo Alto, CA · Software Development

Software Development Manager for AWS Console Platform and AWS Widget Toolkit (AWT) focusing on UXP2. The role involves technical leadership, managing a development team, and owning the technical roadmap for Console platform infrastructure, ensuring scalability and operational excellence. Responsibilities include maintaining high availability, improving the builder onboarding experience, driving architecture decisions, and leading hiring and development of engineers. The team works on products enabling users to manage AWS applications and infrastructure, with a focus on delivering an effective user experience across multiple channels.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the technical roadmap for Console platform infrastructure (module discovery, loading, governance, and delivery) ensuring the platform scales reliably for 200+ service teams
  2. Maintain Tier-1 operational excellence — driving 99.99%+ availability, owning on-call rotations, runbooks, and operational metrics for critical backend services
  3. Own the builder onboarding experience end-to-end — reducing friction for AWS service teams adopting the micro-frontend platform, improving time-to-first-module and developer satisfaction
  4. Drive architecture decisions that unify the registry, governance, and delivery stack — eliminating fragmented ownership and reducing cross-team handoffs
  5. Partner with adjacent teams (experience layer, console-wide platform teams) to maintain clean interfaces and ship technical solutions for desired user experiences
