Software Development Manager for Customer Care Engineering team responsible for applications used by Customer Care agents to provide customer service. The role involves managing a team of engineers, driving technical decisions, defining guidelines, and collaborating with multi-functional teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage a team of software engineers responsible for building tools and insights for Chewy’s best in class Customer Care.
  2. Drive priorities, technical decisions, delivery, continuous improvement, and support of current and future projects.
  3. Define and advocate for guidelines in software development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  4. Define and champion operational excellence that enable system observability and alarming. Continuously measure system availability and optimize system performance.
  5. Lead and communicate technical designs, technology strategy, and priorities to other technical teams and senior management.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Systems Engineering or a similar math or engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated history of implementing and managing significant software development projects in a CI/CD environment
  • 5-10 years of experience in Software Development as a software engineer
  • 2+ years of experience in Engineering Management
  • Strong expertise with both frontend and backend technologies such as React and Java.
  • Proven delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Ability to build highly scalable, distributed systems using cloud-native technologies such as AWS.
  • Ability to simultaneously support multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with e-commerce and/or custom care applications
