Software Development Manager, Trust Data Platform

Autodesk is looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the Trust Data Platform team. This role involves managing developers building and operating scalable, reliable, cloud-native data platform services that enable trusted data across Autodesk. The platform supports analytics, reporting, operational insights, and AI-driven initiatives, helping teams make data-informed decisions at scale. The manager will provide technical, strategic, and people leadership, partner with Product Managers and Architects, and own the delivery and operational excellence of the platform, including data ingestion, ETL/ELT, processing, metadata management, and data lifecycle management. They will also lead the development of cloud-native data lake and data warehouse solutions, drive adoption of modern data engineering practices, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the Trust Data Platform team, providing technical, strategic, and people leadership to a team of developers building scalable, reliable, and cloud-native data platform services
  2. Partner closely with Product Managers to define platform vision, strategy, roadmaps, priorities, and success metrics that align with organizational objectives and customer needs
  3. Collaborate with Architect and Senior Principal Developers to drive technical direction, platform modernization, and long-term architectural evolution
  4. Own the delivery and operational excellence of the Trust Data Platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability
  5. Build and evolve foundational data platform capabilities, including data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, data processing, metadata management, and data lifecycle management

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or data engineering experience
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience leading software, platform, or data engineering teams
  • Experience building and operating large-scale cloud-native platforms on AWS
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and modern data platform architectures
  • Experience designing and operating data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and large-scale data processing systems
  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologies
  • Experience supporting analytics, machine learning, AI, or data-driven product initiatives
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, observability, and platform operations
  • Experience delivering software and platform capabilities using Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills
  • Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams

Nice to have

  • Experience leading enterprise-scale data platform or data infrastructure teams
  • Experience enabling AI, machine learning, or generative AI workloads through scalable data platforms
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD automation
  • Experience driving platform modernization and cloud transformation initiatives
  • Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams
