PayPal, Inc. seeks **Software Engineer **in **San Jose, CA **
Job Duties: Architect and maintain software solutions that enable compliance with international regulatory requirements and support large-scale financial crime investigations. Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications and backend services using programming languages such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript. Develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases and integrate them into continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Investigate, debug, and resolve complex software issues, including production incidents and performance bottlenecks, ensuring compliance-critical applications remain stable. Collaborate with product managers, compliance experts, quality engineers, and senior developers to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions. Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to technical design discussions. Author and maintain technical documentation covering system architecture, design decisions. Research and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and development tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of compliance platform. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

San Jose, California | $169,262.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
